PE and Sport play a vital role in the life of Wolston St Margaret’s C of E Primary School. We believe that physical education and sport contribute significantly to the holistic development of young people. Through participation in PE and sport, pupils learn key values such as teamwork, resilience, fair play and respect for themselves and others.
There is strong evidence that regular physical activity benefits children’s physical health, growth, and development, while also supporting mental wellbeing. Sport provides a positive environment for pupils to learn how to manage competition and cope with both success and setbacks.
The Primary PE and Sport Premium is a government grant introduced in 2013 and confirmed for the 2025–26 academic year, with £320 million allocated nationally. Its purpose is to help schools make additional and sustainable improvements to their PE, sport, and physical activity provision.
